Treo 700p is this VA’s Mobile Best Friend
I decided to write about my Treo 700p Smart phone because it has become instrumental to me in my virtual assistance business. Although I work from my home, I often find myself out and about with the need to keep in touch (I swear no pun was intended) with my clients. I can make appointments, take memos or make voice recordings. I can even keep track of how much time I spend with my clients by using a time tracking software. I have found lots of cool software to ensure I maximize the potential of my MBF (mobile best friend). I can sync my Google calendar to my Treo using GooSync. One of my latest finds is iSkoot, which allows me to make and receive calls using my Skype account.
A great number of my clients have Treo smart phones. This allows me to pass on my software knowledge to them and they in turn get to make better use of their phones. Anyone running a business knows how important it is to still be reachable and yet not chained to your desk. My little Treo lets me do just that. I take it everywhere with me. I set reminders and make grocery lists (never again do I have to say “Darn I left the list on the kitchen table”). I also have a program that lets me catalog which calls are business and which calls are personal (will come in handy at tax time).
If I need a phone number to a restaurant, no longer do I have to pay my cell phone provider $2.00 for their directory assistance. I simply pull out my little Treo, go to a program called DirAsst and I can look the number up myself and add it to my contact list…free of charge.
This is just the tip of the iceberg as to what my Treo MBF can do. I learn knew things about it all the time either from my own research or from other Treo users. So if you are on the fence about whether or not you need a Smart phone, I hope I’ve given you a little insight to help you make a “smart” decision. I mean come on…who couldn’t use a great best friend!

I have the Treo 750 and it is awesome. A day after I got it, I became ill and basically hid in bed for about 4 days. My treo allowed me to check my emails and deal with the urgent ones while staying in bed getting better.
I have tried PDA in the past and gone back to paper but no more, MY TREO ROCKS!!

I’m glad you like the TREO. I’ve heard good things about it. So far I don’t work outside my office so it wouldn’t make sense for me, but if I ever do need to upgrade, I’ll keep this in mind.

Hi Ron,
Try Style Tap http://www.styletap.com/. They sell a program that will allow you to run Palm OS software programs on a Windows Mobile Device. I hope that helps!!
